This PML tranny pan for Ford vehicles fits 1989-2004 Ford 2WD and 4WD with the E4OD or 4R100 transmission. Typical applications are:
- F250, F350, F450, F550 and F150 Lightning trucks
- Some full size Broncos
- Excursion
- E250 (5.4 V8), E350, E450 vans and motorhomes
- Lincoln Navigator
If you have a 6.0 diesel, or a 2005 or newer vehicle you'll need a 5R110W TORQSHIFT PAN instead of this one.
If you have a 460 V8 and a "Banks Power Pack" kit or an Excursion with a V10, please check carefully for clearance between the exhaust and the transmission pan.
Excursion owners: This pan will clear the frame cross member. If you have a 4WD, you may need to loosen the rear trans mount bolts and jack up the transfer case slightly to ease access to the bolts along the back of the pan.

Temperature Sensor Option

This pan has two possible locations for a temperature sensor. One is the boss to the left of the drain hole (as shown in this image) and the other is opposite the drain hole on the passenger's side. These bosses do not come machined. Image at right shows hole drilled on driver's side boss. The bosses accomodate from 1/8 to 1/2 NPT.

About Filters
PML designed this pan to use the stock filter. These are low cost parts and are easily available.
For the filter, this pan has filter supports on the inside. The pick up for the transmission fluid is at the same point with this pan and the stock pan. No filter extension is needed.

About Gaskets
PML recommends a rubber-cork gasket as show in the image.

PML strongly recommends against reuseable rubber gaskets for several reasons. They nick easily, resulting in leaks. Their hole guides can cause gaps between the pan and the transmission case mating surface. Reuseable rubber gaskets are intended to be used with stamped steel stock pans which flex to provide a seal. Sand cast aluminum pans have machined flanges and DO NOT flex. The rubber-cork gasket is used to seal machined surfaces.
